One of the reasons Get Stoked! Records started was to release the H.E.L.L. compilation, a compilation that had roots in Boston and dedicated to help save lives and remember those who had passed away in bike accidents in the city. Even though I currently live in VT, I love Boston and still consider it home. Over this last week, my thoughts have been with everyone in Boston and I’ve wished I could do something to help.

We’ve decided to move ahead with the 50% off record store day sale we’ve been planning on doing, but now 100% of the proceeds will be donated to One Fund Boston.The sale will run for the next week (up until Sat 4/27). A lot has been going on at the Get Stoked! Records camp lately. We released Rough Francis’s debut album “Maximum Soul Power” on cassette, which is already sold out and 10K Volt Ghost’s long awaited cassette “The Clubhouse Demo”. The only remaining copies of the Rough Francis tape are with the band at South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX, so you’ll have to get one from them if they bring any back!

In case you are unaware of Burlington, VT’s Rough Francis, they are a wild and dangerous rock’n roll band with the ability to brainwash our youth with impure thoughts. They have already played shows in NYC, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles and now Austin. Even though the tape is already sold out, the band has CD versions of the album available and eventually vinyl will be pressed. Keep up to date at www.roughfrancis.com.

Even though 10K Volt Ghost has their cassette finally available, the band itself is on somewhat of a hiatus as they search for a permanent drummer. Do you have what it takes? If you do, get in touch with the band though Facebook. You can listen to the demo at http://10kvoltghost.bandcamp.com.

We are also working on releasing Sink Or Swim’s debut EP on CD/Cassette in the coming months. The band features ex-members of Hunger/Crucial Times and current members of Get A Grip playing 90 punk and melodic hardcore akin to 88 Fingers Louie, Kill Your Idols, Kid Dynamite, CIV, Good Riddance and Reach The Sky. Hello noble purveyors of web publishing and angry leprechauns! It has been a few months since we’ve had any real updates for Get Stoked! Records, but we are proud to announce that we will be releasing Get A Grip’s “S/T” Full-Length CD by the end of October. Get A Grip is a heavy/groovy hardcore band full of spiteful lyrics from Rutland, VT. They’ve been playing their brand of hardcore/punk since early 2011. After a self-released demo, EP and countless weekend shows all over New England, we figured it was time to help them really get out there. ALSO! We will be releasing 10K Volt Ghost’s (Scooby Doo Reference) “The Clubhouse Demo” cassette tape before the end of the year. Your really have to experience them live to understand the pure sonic intellect that is 10K. They’ve played a ton of shows in and out of Burlington and Montpelier and show no signs of stopping (even though their singer just got married). Its update time at Get Stoked! Records! Just to keep everyone up to speed, the No Submission S/T 7” is officially available through our online store and through the Get Outta Town Records online store. This is a one time pressing limited to 150 on pink and 150 on coke bottle clear.

We are also putting out a digital release of Fall Lineup’s two EPs titled “Don’t Think Too Much, Thats What Hearts Are For.” This was a progressive/punk band I was in when I was 18 in my first semester of college. It lasted for about a year. Both EPs are available in one download as “name your own price.” Of course that can be greater than or equal to $0. Just remember how broke we all are!

Also, there are still a fuck ton of H.E.L.L. Compilations available on double 12” vinyl and cassette through our online store! The compilation is also being distributed through Deathwish, Inc. and through Bridge 9 Records. There are also still a few versions of the cassette compilation available through Antique Records. So stop fucking up and get on this!

This weekend is the H.E.L.L. compilation release show! Please come out and be there on time! There are a bunch of bands playing so we have to start the show on time and you don’t want to miss the openers. You’ll be able to get the H.E.L.L. compilation on vinyl (including a record release version on black limited to 54 copies). There are two shirt designs that are a collaboration between H.E.L.L. and Art Terror, and screenprinted posters. Also, there’s a really awesome raffle with a bunch of sponsors.

No Submission: Vermont Hardcore

A lot has been happening at Get Stoked! Records lately. Amidst all the preparation for the “One H.E.L.L. of a compilation” double vinyl LP, we’ve also been quietly putting together No Submission’s debut 7” EP. For those of you who don’t know, No Submission features the remaining members of Crucial Times. This 8 song EP in fact has songs that were originally intended for that band. The remaining members of the band, however, didn’t want to see these songs disappear into the proverbial abyss of hardcore/punk songs that once were, hence the creation of NO SUBMISSION.

This 7” is a split label release with Get Outta Town Records, based out of Boston, MA. Get Outta Town Records has worked with bands like The Geeks, Kill Your Idols, Offsides, Nightlights & Paint It Black. Test presses should be arriving to us with a week or so and once they are approved we will post information about pre-orders. I just wanted to repost this to get it some more visibility again. Please repost this to help spread the word! We’re at 75 preorders for the 2xLP comp right now, 33 shirts and 40 cassettes. It’d be amazing to hit 100 pre-orders of the LP (if not more) before the pre-orders are done. 2 1/2 weeks to go before they are! So help get the word out.

In 2007, Gordon Riker & Kelly Wallace both tragically passed away in bike accidents in Boston, MA. Shortly after, friends of their’s started a non-profit organization titled H.E.L.L. (Helping Everyone Live Longer). H.E.L.L. is a DIY group that primarily operates in Boston’s punk and hardcore scene that both Gordon and Kelly were heavily involved in. H.E.L.L.’s main goal is to give out free helmets from donations while raising bike safety awareness. You can learn more about H.E.L.L. at www.helpingeveryonelivelonger.org

For the last year, we’ve been working on a compilation to help raise money and awareness for H.E.L.L. This compilation features songs and artwork from Gordon and Kelly’s friends, family, and favorite bands, as well as a few others who have lost someone close to them. Contributions are not just primarily from the Greater Boston area, but also Florida, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New York, Vermont, Pennsylvania, and Quẽbec. All proceeds from this compilation will go directly to helping keep H.E.L.L. alive.

You can buy the CD directly from us for $5 on our web store. The disc consists of 30 tracks spanning nearly 30 years of punk and hardcore from the Green Mountain State.
